Yodellers learn the price of fame

They were simple mountain farmers. Overnight the 20 members of the Wiesenberg yodelling club were catapulted to national fame, when they won a television talent show. A documentary film follows their journey.

“No business like show business” shows the dilemmas the group has faced as they cope with the aftermath of TV fame. After their victory, they were overwhelmed by concert requests. The enticing offers, especially the one from the foreign ministry to represent Switzerland at the World Expo in Shanghai, created a potential rift in the small, tightknit group. In the end they decided their friendship was worth more than success – and the Swiss tradition of consensus has played a role in keeping them together. (SF/swissinfo.ch)
